From This Moment by Melanie Harlow

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Publishing Date: October 10th, 2017

It was like seeing a ghost.
When my late husband’s twin brother moves back to our small town, I want to avoid him. Everything about Wes reminds me of the man I lost and the life we’d planned together, and after eighteen long months struggling just to get out of bed, I’m finally doing okay. I have a new job, an amazing support group, and a beautiful five-year-old daughter to parent. I don’t want to go backward.
But I’m drawn to him, too. He understands my grief and anger and guilt like no one else—and I understand his. Before long, that understanding becomes desire, and that desire becomes uncontrollable.
He says he doesn't care what people think, and love can never be wrong. But life has taught me it cruelest lesson--love doesn't always win.
If only my heart would believe it.

I understood where the author was reaching in this book. It was a good storyline and I loved Wes. I felt sorry for him. Part of me really disliked his brother Drew. For reasons that you get to understand that I'm not going to give away spoilers - I didn't care for him. Did Drew love his wife? Yes, he did. Did he cherish her? Yep, but did Wes also love her? Yeah, he loved her with a forever love. Hannah could be somewhat insecure, doubtful, and skittish. She loved her daughter Abby though with all her heart and when Wes shows up looking just like his twin brother Drew - it throws her for a loop. She's attracted to him and not because he looks like his brother. He's nothing like his brother. The one person I couldn't stand in this book and was hoping she'd take a long walk off a short pier was Lenore (AKA The mother in law.) That woman was the vilest, most manipulative, hateful human being I'd ever seen in a book and had she been hit by a Mack Truck - that would have been to nice. There's some drama and the flow and pace were good. The only thing I found rushed was the ending - something happens and wham they're back together in 2.9 seconds and it ties up in a nice little bow with everyone getting along??🤔 I thought...WTF, if this was Jerry Springer, somebody would be throwing a chair, ripping some hair out, running someone over. Especially, after the way the mother was a total she-beast. If you've read the authors other books, then you'll like this one as well and if you haven't,  then you won't be lost reading this one.
