Title: Going for the Hole
Author: L.P. Dover
Genre: Sports Rom/Com
Release Date: June 25, 2018 Cover Designer: Letitia Hasser @ RBA Designs
“I absolutely loved everything about this story!!I literally devoured it in one sitting…” ~ Marybeth (Goodreads review)
“I’m addicted to L.P’s books and Going for the Hole is by far my favorite book.” ~ Veronica (Goodreads review)
Grip it softly.
Stroke it smooth.
And you’ll sink right into the hole. That’s my motto both on and off the golf course. The women come in full supply everywhere I go and there are no complaints. Maybe it’s the size of my driver that gets them going.
I’m Lucas “Ace” Montgomery, professional golfer and world record holder for the longest drive in golf history. The PGA Tour has been my life, but it’s time for a break. A few relaxing weeks of drinking and golf with friends in Myrtle Beach is what I need. However, when a bright pink ball knocks me out on the course, and a blonde beauty comes to my aid, I expect to see a gallery girl, a.k.a a member of the Party Groupie Association. Trust me, those girls know how to have fun. Although, to my surprise, it’s not what I get at all.
Dr. Ashley Locke is beautiful and everything I’d want if I was ever to get serious about someone. Unfortunately, she has no interest in me whatsoever which only makes me want her more. All she wants is to get through her friend’s bachelorette weekend and go back to her life. But after injuring me on the course, I’m not letting her run away so easily. When I want something, I get it.
I’m not competing for money this time. All I want is to win her heart.
“When can I see you again?”
I shook my head. “I don’t think that’s a good idea.”
“I took a needle in the ass for you. Surely, that deserves more of your attention?”
Why did he always have to give me that devilish smile of his? As much as I wanted to hate it, I couldn’t. “Why are you doing this? Can’t you find someone else?”
“Of course I can, but I want you. We can have secret meetings in here if you’re still embarrassed to be seen in public with me.”
I rolled my eyes. “I’m not embarrassed. You’re you, and I’m a respectable member of society.”
He burst out laughing. “Okay, I see how it is.”
“I just don’t want the publicity,” I added. “You can understand that, right? You of all people should know what it’s like not to have privacy.”
His smile faded. “You’re right, I do, but it’s my life. I can’t change who I am.” My body shivered with the intensity of his stare. “For once, I thought I’d found someone who wanted me for me and not my money or fame.”
Guilt racked my body and I sighed. “Okay, I give in. I can see you tomorrow, after I get out of the spa. Maybe we can order in room service.”
Eyes twinkling, he went over to the door and opened it. “Now that’s a plan I can get behind.”
Before I could walk out, he stood in my way, body close to mine. “I’m going to break through that ice wall of yours, sunshine. One way or another.”

I batted my eyelashes in an innocent matter. “Good luck with that.”

Not being a fan of golf, this was a hard book to get into for me. I liked the characters and the plot seemed intriguing, however, the golf aspect was sort of lost on me. I'm the kind of person who would be reading during a golf game. I know the storyline was close to the authors heart because it deals with Addysons disease and the ramifications behind it. That part of the book I enjoyed but I found myself flipped over the golf parts. I missed the suspense of LP Dovers usual books. That doesn't mean I won't still read everything she puts out!

nerdgasm (noun): an emotional climax at the peak of intense (sometimes sexual) excitement, characterized by a deep attraction to nerdy things and/or people.

My stutter makes it easy to become the center of attention for all the wrong reasons, so I try hard to stay out of the spotlight.
But when Addison Mitchell breezes into the class I TA for, she turns my world upside down, shaking me out of my comfort zone.
Confident and bold, her wandering hands set my body on fire.
She sees the real me, and she’s still interested.
I’m completely out of my element, yet I’ve never felt more alive.
Fingers crossed we're not a one-off fling.
I have a lot to learn, but I’m willing to make this work.
I’m going to give her more than a nerdgasm.
I’m going to give her my heart.

This was a cute premise that was kind hit or miss in some spots. At times, I liked it and at other times I loved it. I couldn't put my finger on what it was but something about this book just got me at time. I guess it was the stuttering which sounds really awful but true. It wasn't true to life and I couldn't see it really happening. I would read this author again and any other book she has but it would need to maybe be a different premise.

That was my story with Brandon Jeffers, power hitter for the Washington Rampage and baseball’s biggest bad boy. He came into my life like a line drive to the face, and he left without looking back.

It’s okay though, because I’m determined to raise this baby on my own. I mean, women for centuries have navigated parenthood alone…why should I be any different?

But when the major league star shows up on my doorstep making promises I know he can't keep, my defenses go up and my expectations stay low.

Brandon says he can clean up his act…

I’ll believe it when I see it.

I really loved Brandon - I loved that he wanted to be there and every time he left he just wanted to come back. He wasn't the playboy that everyone thought he was...once he found the one - that was it and he tried everything he could think of to get the girl. I love a good sports romance and when done right, it can be really good. I am really loving this series so far and the chemistry between these two were as cute as can be. I loved Liv and her protectiveness, but Jayne...that woman needed a good running over, preferably with a car. There was equal parts angst, drama and funny in this to make it a home run!😘

Anne Malcom is stopping by today for the release of ETERNITY’S AWAKENING, book 3 in The Vein Chronicles! Check it out and grab your copy now!

Title: ETERNITY’S AWAKENING

Author: Anne Malcom

Genre: Paranormal Romance

About Eternity’s Awakening:

Heartbeats had a pesky way of complicating things. They almost always came with the nasty side effect of humanity and finally... death. Since Thorne came into my life, I'd been plagued with both. Heartbeats and humanity. Both of these things were going to be the death of me. One way or another. And the death of everyone I knew and loved, a list growing longer with every beat of my newly repaired—and irritating—heart. That pesky humanity was almost as toxic as the most debilitating illness on this hunk of rock, killing more humans than any vampire could. Love. And there I was, attached to a slayer who I couldn't be undead without. Friends who I was becoming increasingly attached to. All things—people—he would take away from me. Then he'd take me too. But if it came to that, I'd yank out my beating heart and crush it in my hands before he could touch me. It was lost anyway. If he won, my eternity would come to an end. As it happened, so would the world. That only meant I couldn't lose.

Exclusive Excerpt:

“We need to talk about him,” Thorne said, his voice tight. “Who?” I asked, swiping my face with blush and pretending to be innocent. It didn’t work well, despite me being an excellent actress. Someone as fucked up as me couldn’t even feign innocence; they could only ruin it. Plus, I knew who he was talking about. I could sense it in his very words. We hadn’t uttered his name since we left the compound, and the all-night sexathon did not warrant such conversation. Thorne’s quicksilver gaze bored into my reflection. “Your fucking husband.” I paused for a sliver of a second before I resumed applying my makeup. “I’d say that our marriage is considered null and void after he faked his own death and then tried to kill us both, don’t you?” It was a considerable effort to keep my voice tight with sarcasm and nothing else, but I did it. “He was something to you, Isla. You told me as much when you told me the story of his death.” He paused. “He was something to you, and now he wants you back. And he’s made it quite clear that he’s going to kill every single person who gets in his way. I didn’t miss your reaction when Alexus said those words.” I put the brush down, laying my palms flat on the marble counter, glaring at his reflection. “No, he was something to the human I used to be,” I corrected, my voice rising slightly. “He’s nothing to the vampire I am now. Nothing but another target to take out in the middle of this war.” The lie sounded weak even to my ears. Thorne stepped forward, face tight and blank, his energy swirling around me. “You may be able to lie to yourself about that, but you can’t lie to me. There’s still something there. He still has something over you,” he rasped, coming to stand behind me but not touching me. I pretended I didn’t care, that I didn’t crave his touch, that I didn’t need it to chase away the sickness that carried Jonathan’s memories. “He doesn’t. Videos weren’t invented five hundred years ago, so he can’t show everyone how dreadfully dense I was,” I retorted. “Nor can he broadcast my equally dreadful fashion sense, so I’m good.” Abruptly, Thorne’s fist shattered my reflection. Glass rained down around us, and the fragrance of his blood filled the air, mingling with his hot and wild fury. “Stop it!” he roared, snatching my shoulders to painfully twist me around. The pop of my shoulder dislocating echoed through the room. I gaped at his fury-filled eyes. They were so far gone he hadn’t even noticed injuring me in the midst of it. “Stop with the jokes, with the sarcasm,” he hissed, voice a blade. “I watched it. I watched you fucking freeze and turn into some kind of robot in the middle of the battle at your parents’ house. Watched you walk toward him. Nothing has control over you. Or I’d thought that until I saw him. He has control over you, Isla.” It was an accusation, but it was something else too, something more than jealousy. Something like dread. A sickening premonition of the visceral fear he’d feel when we were faced with Jonathan again. But I wasn’t about to inspect it, because it would mean that I had to recognize whatever feelings had been dredged up from the grave along with Jonathan. “No one has control over me, Thorne,” I lied. “Not even me.” My voice was pure ice. “And especially not you.” I wrenched myself out of his grip and stormed from the room. He didn’t follow me.

About Anne:

Anne Malcom has been an avid reader since before she can remember, her mother responsible for her book addiction. It started with magical journeys into the world of Hogwarts and Middle Earth, then as she grew up her reading tastes grew with her. Her obsession with books and romance novels in particular gave Anne the opportunity to find another passion, writing. Finding writing about alpha males and happily ever afters more fun than reading about them, Anne is not about to stop any time soon. Raised in small town New Zealand, Anne had a truly special childhood, growing up in one of the most beautiful countries in the world. She has backpacked across Europe, ridden camels in the Sahara, eaten her way through Italy, and had all sorts of crazy adventures. For now, she's back at home in New Zealand and quite happy. But who knows when the travel bug will bite her again.

The third book is definitely the best. The characters are more fleshed out, it's funnier, it's more of a storyline and it has more depth. I loved getting more continuation of our slayer and her posse. They just gelled more in this one than the previous ones and the humor was great. This really reminds me of Buff the Vampire Slayer and whoever says it doesn't- they're just lying!!
