A new stand alone enemies-to-lovers romance by USA Today bestselling author K.A. Linde...
I spent six weeks screwing Austin Wright’s brains out and all I got was this broken heart.
He can’t be trusted. Not with my body or my heart. Yet, two years have passed and I still crave him like an addict needing a fix.
The last time we tried this, it nearly ruined me. I know I should run and never look back. But his dark haunted eyes and razor blade smile speak to my soul. His touch sets my body on fire. And we all know what happens when you light gasoline. Someone is bound to get burned.
A second chance might destroy us both.
Because everyone knows two wrongs don’t make a Wright.
This was a difficult book to review for me. I love K.A. Linde and her books and a part of me loved the redemption in this one. I loved the drama of this...here's where it gets tricky. I don't like enablers. I felt like almost everyone in this book really just enabled Austin to be an alcoholic. They passed him the beer and almost poured it down his throat. I know he's an adult, however, as a family member of one side of a whole side of alcoholics - you don't perpetuate the problem by having the person around alcohol. You don't have it in your house, at a party, or take them to a bar. Yes, they may have to be around it, but you don't have to throw it at them like a wiffle ball! Maybe, I'm just being snarky but that's my take. Now, this is a well-written story and if you'd taken the enabling alcoholic out of it - it would have been an AWESOME book...the side story about the ex and the fact that he's crazy - simply brilliant. No spoilers on who he is. I felt like Julie didn't do herself any good until the last half of the story. She knew that Austin wasn't good for her and yet she still went and fell for him. We seldom listen to our head in these type of situations. We fall for the type of men we shouldn't sometimes. My heart broke in a lot of places for some of the family in this and the truth of the matter is this - Life is short and we aren't guaranteed tomorrow. That's what you'll take away from this book. You aren't promised tomorrow, so live your life as if today is your last...just don't do it with alcohol.
